Testing Facilities
Midwest Usability Lab—At Tec-Ed headquarters is a fully-equipped, wheelchair accessible usability lab. The lab is suited for individual sessions and group sessions of up to six people. The lab design is flexible, allowing for testing of software and websites, paper prototypes, documentation, and hand-held devices, as well as sessions with whiteboard activities.
An adjoining room provides observers a view of the lab through a one-way mirror as well as of the participant’s computer screen on a synchronized computer monitor. The observation room comfortably seats four to six people. Wireless Internet enables observers to stay productive between sessions.
Other Locations—For our many clients outside the Midwest, Tec-Ed researchers are experienced using in-house labs at client offices, renting vendor facilities, and setting up temporary labs in client conference rooms or spare offices. Any space can be a lab once we supply the appropriate equipment.
Remote Options—Tec-Ed stays current with the latest technologies for conducting testing with remote observers and for conducting remote testing. We are happy to offer these options with each engagement.
